How to get started....

Step 1:  Administer the "One-to-One Diagnostic Reading Test" to your child.   This test will take from 15 minutes to one hour, depending on the age and abilities of the student. 

When testing is completed, you will then obtain an approximate Grade Level Achievement Score in the following skill areas:  Sight Word Recognition, Word Attack, and Reading Comprehension.   In the Spelling portion of the test, you will obtain two scores:  Sight Word Spelling and Phonetic Spelling. 

Step 2:  By reviewing the Grade Level Achievement Scores and comparing these scores to each other and to the Norm, you can identify your child's relative strengths and weaknesses in each skill area.

Step 3:  When you have determined which Reading and/or Spelling skills need to be addressed, it is simple to convert the Grade Level Achievement Score into a Series Level Placement Score.  This will allow you to begin instruction and order materials at the appropriate level of difficulty. 

Step 4:  Examine the sample copies, then order further materials if desired.
